Maika Global is looking for an individual that has proven experience in building successful advertising campaigns in both digital and traditional environments. You will be required to collaborate across various departments and clients with a current awareness of platforms and industry aligned trends.
As the Advertising/Creative Director you will be required to oversee operations and direct staff members in our team. You will establish project objectives, delegate tasks to appropriate team members, direct research, analyse data, and evaluate projects to ensure they meet client expectations, properly represent the brand, and achieve the desired results.
To succeed you will need to be focussed on raising awareness and building interest in our clients products and services. You should be a detail-oriented, creative, and a collaborative problem solver with outstanding communication and project management skills.
The ideal candidate approaches work with the mentality that there is no task too small or too large to tackle, knowing how to position a brand to the public while driving actionable results.
What You'll Do
• Own the creative and strategic direction of all projects, in collaboration with other stakeholders and the client.
• Build creative briefs for internal teams and external resources. - Understand how to brief craft specialists – designers or directors, for example – to deliver projects against your creative vision.
• Be a creative and channel specialist - understand the roles, opportunities and production constraints of different content types across different channels.
• Lead by example and immerse yourself within our client’s business so you can identify, understand and overcome commercial and internal challenges, inspiring and delivering the best and most progressive work possible, whilst still considering the holistic needs of the brand.
• Run projects and pitches with minimal senior oversight - championing creative direction, intent and creative excellence whilst being aware of commercial pressures including resourcing, budget and profitability.
• Oversee project teams to help them deliver their best work. Know when to step in, know when to step back.
• Work with management to define KPIs, create reporting, analyze campaign performance. Monitor and create recommendations to improve campaigns continuously.
• Evaluate projects to ensure they meet the expectations, properly represent the brand, and achieve the desired results with well documented reviews to present back to clients.
Who You Are

• 5-7 + years of experience in advertising or creative direction.
• Understanding of design and marketing principles and techniques.
• Ability to develop strategies based on industry trends and developments.
• Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, especially when working with multiple projects, clients and teams.
• Must have superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Solid presentation skills. Comfortable communicating to c-suite client level.
• Must be highly organized and self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
• Degree in marketing, advertising or related field.
• Strong independent project management skills.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities under minimal supervision.
• Able to think critically and exercise independent judgment and discretion.
• Excellent attention to detail. Clear decision making and strong problem solving skills, especially under stress.

We have offices based in multiple timezones so the hours are not a simple 9 to 5, you will be expected to adjust your days to compensate for meetings across multiple time zones so flexibility in your schedule is important as well as time management skills.
Some events will occasionally roll into the evenings or happen over weekends and your attendance will be required. International travel is also common for our team as we launch campaigns globally. With the evolution of technology and how an audience consumes information, we utilize modern marketing methods to increase reach and deliver relevant, attractive, and valuable content to our client's key demographic.
